Ibrahim Rahman Shortlisted for University Alumni Award

Our Director of Communications Ibrahim Rahman has been shortlisted for the Anglia Ruskin University Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumni Awards.
Ibrahim has been nominated for the Alumni Voluntary Service Award, which recognises alumni whose voluntary work has made a positive impact through community work, fundraising or volunteering.
“I’m truly humbled and grateful to my alma mater for this recognition,” said Ibrahim, who graduated from Anglia Ruskin University in 2012 with a BSc (Hons) in Information Security and Forensic Computing.
“It’s been an honour to serve through the Karim Foundation over the last five years, helping to provide food, fuel and emergency support to local people who are facing financial hardship.
“I’d like to congratulate everyone who has been nominated, and I’m really looking forward to attending the awards ceremony next week.”
Since his graduation, Ibrahim has built a strong foundation in broadcast media and public relations, with experience at ITV News Anglia and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
As of 2019, he has been working as a Social Media Coordinator at the University of Cambridge, creating engaging content for diverse audiences for the University’s flagship channels.
In September 2020, he joined the Karim Foundation as a founding volunteer and has since been at the forefront of the charity’s communications, marketing and fundraising.
His efforts have been instrumental in shaping our public presence and driving successful campaigns including the annual Cambridge Ramadan Appeal, which has raised thousands of pounds to support vulnerable families and individuals in Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
The awards ceremony will take place at the University’s Chelmsford campus on Thursday 24 April 2025.
