Building Healthy Communities Together
We had a wonderful time at Health and Wellness Day!
The event, organised by Cambridge Central Mosque, brought together local healthcare organisations, charities and community groups, offering visitors the opportunity to seek free health and wellbeing advice and support through expert-led talks, health checks and screenings.
It was a pleasure to meet new faces throughout the day and we’re grateful to everyone who took the time to chat with us and learn more about how we support the most vulnerable in our community.
Dr Osman Bhatti, GP and Cambridge Central Mosque Health Hub volunteer, said: “It was important to not only raise awareness that the Karim Foundation exists for the local community, but also to show the amazing work that is going on to address issues around inequality and the social determinants of health.”
The Cambridge Central Mosque Health Hub expects to plan and host similar large events every year, but may also have some regular monthly wraparound events based on local needs such as palliative care, health checks, mental wellness that will be led by local health and care specialists who volunteer at the Mosque.
Special thanks to the Cambridge Central Mosque Health Hub for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful event, full of inspiring connections and important conversations with many organisations.
The Karim Foundation continues its efforts to provide food and fuel support for Cambridge families and individuals in financial hardship. Visit the Donate page to find out how you can help those in need today.
