Cambridge Ramadan Appeal

The Karim Foundation launches its Cambridge Ramadan Appeal for 2025.

This year’s Ramadan fundraiser – which has run annually since 2021 – will focus on supporting local people most affected by the rising cost of living.

“As food prices and household bills continue to increase, we are seeing more families and individuals in Cambridge struggling to afford the basic necessities,” said Shahida Rahman, Chair of the Board of Trustees.

“That’s why this year’s Cambridge Ramadan Appeal will be dedicated to supporting all those facing financial hardship in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. Our focus is to provide essential assistance, including food and fuel support, to those most impacted by rising costs.”

For the fifth consecutive year, the Karim Foundation continues to work collaboratively with local partners including the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum (CECF) and Cambridge City Council to ensure help reaches those in need.

“The Karim Foundation has been one of our key partners over the past four years, providing vital support to some of the most economically deprived communities in Cambridge,” said Eddie Stadnik, Chief Executive Officer of the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum.

“CECF is supporting the Cambridge Ramadan Appeal because the Karim Foundation is unique in being able to assist our most needy residents with culturally appropriate food, in addition to other assistance. As a grassroots initiative, they deeply understand the needs of these communities.

“Every family should be able to cook a hot meal, no child should be in poverty, and no person should go hungry – yet these are daily realities for many in Cambridge. Your donations will help the Karim Foundation to both tackle the immediate need and be a voice for change.”

“The Cambridge Ramadan Appeal practically demonstrates the spirit of compassion and unity that exemplifies our city,” said Robert Pollock, Chief Executive of the Cambridge City Council.

“I’d encourage everyone to donate and by supporting this cause, you can extend a big helping hand to some of our most vulnerable residents and make a tangible difference in the lives of those who are struggling the most in Cambridge.”

While Muslims across the world go without food and drink during the daylight hours of Ramadan, many will be seeking to reap the rewards of this holy month by giving more in charity to people in need. Your generous donations can make a real difference to those who are finding it increasingly difficult to put food on the table and cover essential expenses.

Please give what you can to our Cambridge Ramadan Appeal and help us provide crucial support to all those struggling in our community. We wish everyone in Cambridge and around the world a peaceful and blessed Ramadan.

Thank you for your support and please donate generously.
