Cambridge Ramadan Appeal: Thank You

Since bringing the Cambridge Ramadan Appeal to a close, we can now reveal a grand total of £3,205 has been raised to assist local families and individuals in need of emergency support.

A third of the funds raised during Ramadan have already been spent on essential food items such as lamb, chicken, fish, rice/couscous, chick peas, lentils and cooking oil.

“While your generous donations were coming in, we sent out 20 food packages for local families and individuals in need during Ramadan,” Trustee Kal Karim said. “We’re immensely grateful to all who have supported this campaign, with some of you giving on more than one occasion.”

It was really pleasing to see many raising awareness of the appeal through word of mouth and social media. We are especially thankful to all the local organisations, businesses and mosques who displayed our ‘window’ posters throughout the month of Ramadan.

We also want to highlight the amazing efforts of Cambridge resident Husain Patel, who kindly offered to promote the appeal on the Cambridge Muslim App.

“They have been working passionately to provide support to all local needy families, individuals and the homeless with essential supplies during this global pandemic – which has been a hard time for so many,” said Husain Patel from the Cambridge Muslim App team.

“To have a local dedicated Muslim charity organisation is a blessing. We were proud to support the Cambridge Ramadan Appeal on our app.”

The Karim Foundation continues its efforts to provide food and fuel support for Cambridge families and individuals in financial difficulty. Visit the Donate page to find out how you can help those in need today.

Your generosity and kindness is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
