Stay Warm Stay Safe: The First Delivery
Since launching our winter campaign to support Wintercomfort for the Homeless, we have collectively raised more than £2,200 towards the purchase of warm clothing and footwear for locals in need.
Over the last two weeks, your wonderful donations have so far helped us to acquire 165 essential items including boots, trainers, sweatshirts, hoodies, long sleeve tops, t-shirts, jogging bottoms, jeans and socks.
Melody Brooker, Fundraising and Communications Manager at Wintercomfort, joined us on a bitterly cold Saturday morning as we collected the order of footwear from Go Outdoors in Cambridge. We are especially grateful to management staff Peter Trickey and Claire Fuller for supporting our campaign by providing a discount for each item of footwear that was purchased.
We delivered these items to Wintercomfort to give to those in our community who need it most.
“We are so grateful to the Karim Foundation and all those who donated to their Stay Warm Stay Safe appeal in support of Wintercomfort for the Homeless,” said Melody.
“This amazing initiative has enabled the purchase of around 200 pieces of clothing and footwear for our service users. At a time when we are experiencing incredibly cold weather under the added pressures of lockdown, this amazingly generous donation will make an immediate impact in improving the lives of many people. Thank you so much.”
